Champagne reception & hors d’oeuvres followed by a five course dinner with wine pairing
It is with great pleasure and honor that Del Posto welcomes Tancredi Biondi-Santi for our next event in our wine maker series. Tancredi is the seventh generation of Montalcino’s most hallowed estate.
Brunello di Montalcino, one of the most celebrated wines of Italy, is synonymous with the Biondi-Santi family. It begins and ends with their family as it is at “Il Greppo” that the original Brunello clone of Sangiovese was discovered.
Long before there were “Super Tuscans”, the Brunellos made by the Biondi-Santi’s helped set the standard for Tuscan reds. As the denomination grew in size and prestige, one constant remained the same: Biondi Santi’s unwavering commitment to the traditions of the past. Their dogmatic philosophy in the vineyards and cellar led to honest, thoughtful, and today, the most sought-after representations of Brunello.
At this intimate dinner, Tancredi will preside over a retrospective tasting of a selection of wines from their estate that epitomizes the family’s identity. The tasting with span 6 decades and only features their iconic riserva bottlings.
We are excited to explore these historic vintages with Tancredi.
